The arts have always welcomed the strange with open arms, its doors have always been ajar for the peculiar.  And in this age of dwindling wonder, a time in which people have possibly seen everything
there is to see, Curio: A Multimedia Art Exhibit wants to elicit the feeling of wonder brought about by a circus, one of the few places where one can get this feeling from, back in the day. Through art, the exhibit aims to explore the relationship between artistic expression and individuality, and to show why the odd is not something to be feared; it is something that we should all embrace.
In the sea of the conventional and familiar that we traverse daily, does being anything less than normal stand a chance? Curio: A Multimedia Art Exhibit wants to prove that it stands a chance. Tucking away the weirdest parts of yourself is no longer necessary.

Thirty-two visual artists, odd bedfellows, from Mapua University’s School of Media Studies will occupy the stage, devoid of cheap tricks and gimmicks, with only their art, and an abundance of passion.

It is an exhibit framed and curated to resemble a freakshow. An array of works will be showcased from traditional to digital, each a demonstration of creative prowess, and more importantly, a loving ode to the odd, and the strangest of the strange.

If you are in town and are looking for something beyond the mundane and the ordinary, enter the big top; come and see the spectacle that is Curio: A Multimedia Art Exhibit on October 12-14, 2018 at Warehouse 8, Makati!
