Eat and drink British with your family and friends starting this weekend as the British Embassy Manila launches the Food is GREAT week to mark 70 years of enduring UK-Philippines friendship.

From Oct. 16 to 23, enjoy special menus and discounts in selected partner establishments from North to South of Metro Manila.

"The best way to mark the great friendship between the Philippines and the UK is through great food and drinks shared with loved ones," said British Ambassador Asif Ahmad.
"Modern British cuisine has been undergoing an exciting transformation to reflect the richness of tradition and the diversity of cultures in the UK," he added.

Take pleasure in British gastronomical delights with family and friends at the Crimson Hotel's Cafe 8, which is led by British executive chef Martin Bower. Savour their Chicken Tikka Masala, Braised Beef and Mushroom Pie, and Shepherd's Pie before finishing with desserts such as Grandma Eva's Sherry Trifle and Eton mess.

Feast on British food while enjoying great ambiance at The Eatles. Enter this British icons inspired diner through their red telephone box-slash-door and try their special menu for the week, all served fresh from their London bus themed kitchen.

To satisfy your shopping appetite, head over to Marks & Spencer and enjoy a 15% discount on all food and wine for a minimum purchase of P1000.

Cap off a GREAT night by celebrating the British way. Drop by Royal Picadilly with your chums and explore their Pub Favourites on 20% off. Take advantage of The Bonbon Club's special rates for gin-based drinks. Devour British comfort food from Union Jack Tavern.

The UK is home to one of the most diverse and innovative food cultures in the world. It exports British classics such as whisky and gin, salmon and seafood, specialist teas and cheeses to over 200 countries and territories, generating business worth £18.2 billion in 2015.

Over 150 Michelin star restaurants operate in the UK.
