Café Sanso, in cooperation with Fundacion Sanso, pays tribute to Presidential Medal Merit Awardee and one of the best-known members of the Philippine Modernist movement, Juvenal Sanso with Una Noche de Musica y Arte – a night full of classical music that took place on the evening of July 17, 2017 at Fundacion Sanso in the City of San Juan.
The sold out concert helmed by Stage Director Alegria Ferrer, showcased Jade Riccio's versatility as a singer. The highly sought-after soprano Jade sang arias, kundiman and cross-over popular songs with ease and elegance to the delight of the audience. Indeed, this young soprano is set for a fruitful career in Philippine opera. String Cantabile Michael Rendal, Joven Aquisap, Jose Benjamin Caaway and pianist Karla Diño completed the beautiful ensemble, which captivated everyone with their rendition of Libertango, Tango Por Una Cabeza and El tango de Roxanne. We praise the organizers for creating an event that merges music and visual arts in one night. The guest of honor, Mr. Juvenal Sanso was present to grace the concert as Ms. Gilda Socorro Salita, Director of Fundacion Sanso, and Ms. Hazel Frias, Operations Manager of Cafe Sanso were present to welcome guests and give their praises to Mr. Sanso.
