“The Art of Healing” showcases the vibrant and colorful works of Melissa Yeung Yap, a talented artist who has dedicated her latest collection to child survivors under the care of the Zonta Club Makati and Environs’ Psychological Center for Sexually Abused Girls. Through her abstract artworks, Yeung Yap aims to represent the process of healing and the strength of women.
Yeung Yap's works feature indigenous texture patterns from the T’boli tribes of Mindanao, which she has incorporated into her decidedly modern abstracts featuring bold strokes and pastel hues. The juxtaposition of traditional indigenous patterns and modern abstract art creates a unique and dynamic visual experience for the viewer.
In addition to her paintings, this exhibition will also feature artworks printed on scarves. These scarves were produced in collaboration with Yong Studio, which also created textile patterns based on Yeung Yap's artwork. These scarves are stylish and fashionable pieces that celebrate women and the strength and vibrancy that every woman embodies. The scarves exude an elegant tropical chic vibe, perfect for women who want to make a statement with their fashion choices.
